I am a second year student at at the University at Buffalo studying graphic design. When I was 12 years old I discovered an old Nikon F1 in my basement, and quickly became fascinated with the idea of capturing a moment. I made the jump to digital photography, and began participating in online photography contests while teaching myself photo techniques through online research and experimentation. In the summer of 2007 I attended the “Advanced Young Color Digital Photographers” workshop at the Maine Media Workshops, and began freelancing for the website www.takegreatpictures.com. I have published a number of tutorials and photo journals, and was featured in a profile on that website. My work was also featured on the “Exit” page in the September/October 2009 issue of Digital Photo magazine.

Since starting college I have been advancing not only my photography skills but have also been studying and working on design projects. I have always sought to create clear, clean images with photography, and that philosophy has carried over into my design work. My coursework has exposed me to the fundamentals of art, both in practice and in theory, and I continue to be intrigued by the relationship between those traditional principles and digital media on communicating ideas.
